Will was born on Aug. 15, 1976 in Clinton, IA the son of Kimberli Rixen. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1995. In his early career, Will worked in various capacities, helping open casinos in several states. He then found his true calling as an elementary school teacher, where he left a lasting mark on students in Clinton, Goose Lake, Preston, Davenport, Savanna, and Bettendorf. Dedicated to his profession, he earned two master’s degrees during his many years of teaching.
Will’s vibrant and one-of-a-kind personality was unforgettable. He was always the life of the party, with a knack for “shenanigans” that always kept everyone entertained. He had a way of making people laugh until their cheeks hurt. He found joy in traveling, crafting, gardening, canning, and cooking. Will’s proudest accomplishment was his daughter, Piper. Everything he did in life was for her and with her in mind. From a young age, Will’s only dream was to be a father, a role he embraced completely. But more than anything, Will’s greatest joy was taking Piper and Madalyn on grand adventures, making sure they saw and experienced all that the world had to offer.
Will is survived by his daughter, Piper Wiesner of Clinton, IA; his father and three half-brothers; several cousins, Madalyn, Lynn, Amy, Renee, Mary, Zach, and Joey; two uncles, Chris (Christy) and Dave; and his dogs, Bizzy and Bean. He was preceded in death by his mother, Kimberli; step-father, Scott; grandparents; uncle, Joe; aunt, Sue; cousin, Angie and his beloved dog, Shampoo.
My sincerest sympathy to the Weisner family. Billy will be so missed by all of his family and friends. What an awesome young man he was. May he RIP. Rita McFarlin
I’m sorry this happened.
He had talked with me a lot about a vision for doing a business that would employ students that have gone through the elementary school with him and would work in the north into town where he had taught.
I’m sorry this happened
So sorry to hear of your loss. Enjoyed catching up everytime we saw each other out and about. He always had to update me on Piper and was so excited about whatever was happening in her life.
I know how much he missed his mom and know the two are together and looking down and smiling at you Piper.
Definitely another gone too soon, but what a difference he made while he was here.
Will was always the brightest light in the classroom. His smile and laughter were contagious. He had the hugest heart and soul of anyone I know. Will made me feel as if I was instantly part of the fifth grade team. He was witty and I never knew anyone who didn’t want to have Will as a friend. He touched so many lives. Will, you will be missed. I want to off my condolences to his daughter and family. What a great loss for so many . Rest in Peace my friend.
