Janie V. Johnson age 73 of Clinton, IA passed away Sunday November 16, 2025 at her home. Visitation will be held Friday November 21, 2025 from 5 – 7 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. Following the visitation cremation rites will be accorded. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Janie was born on September 19, 1952 in Clinton, IA the daughter of Donald and Janis (Schultz) Johnson. She graduated from Clinton High School. She was an LPN, working at the hospital and at The Alverno; and more lately at Dudads-Hallmark Store, Clinton.
Janie was the kind of person who brightened the whole room just by walking in and showing her warm effortless smile. She was a good listener, caring, compassionate and thoughtful.
She was very devoted to her family, friends and coworkers. She especially loved spending time with her grandchildren. She attended their events and was a constant source of love and support to them. She was a wonderful mother to Nathan.
She enjoyed playing pool and to her teammates, she was more than a pool league partner. She was a source of laughter, encouragement and friendship. Janie brought people together with her genuine heart and her easy-going nature. Whether celebrating a win or lifting spirits after a tough night, she had a way of making every moment lighter.
Janie is survived by her son, Nathan (Michelle) Moore of Clinton, IA; her four grandchildren, Ashten, Ethan, Payton, and Brayden; two brothers, Donald and Richard Johnson, both of Clinton, IA; 2 uncles, Dick and Robert, 2 aunts Dee Dee and Mary Beth, several nieces & nephews, many beloved friends who were like family and her dear little dog, Pooh Bear who will all miss her greatly. She was preceded in death by her parents and a niece, Michelle.
