Jeffrey P. “Jeff” Niebuhr age 65 of Clinton passed away Monday, August 17, 2026 at Mercy One Hospital in Clinton. In following Jeff’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. No services are being planned at this time. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Jeff was born in Clinton on November 10, 1960, the son of Eugene and Helen (Schmidt) Niebuhr. He graduated from Clinton High School and attended the University of Northern Iowa. Jeff married Sharon Robinson on February 17, 2001 in Clinton. He had been employed at the Clinton Herald and later with the Wild Rose. Jeff was a very active member of St. John Lutheran Church. He enjoyed the theater, having been active with the Clinton Area Showboat. Jeff was a huge movie buff, enjoying all types of movies, especially Star Wars. He enjoyed fishing and was a fan of the Iowa Hawkeyes and Chicago Bears.
Jeff is survived by his wife Sharon; 2 children, Ryan (Angie) Robinson of Camanche and Beth (Willie) Scheer of Clinton; 4 grandchildren, Hannah and Cole Robinson, and Emma and Bailey Scheer; his sister, Barbara (Dan) Jepsen of Port Bryon, IL; his brother, Larry (Pam) Niebuhr of Eldridge, IA, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Helen; a sister, Pam Widmer, and a nephew, Joel Widmer. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
