Tammy Faith Virginia Brockett, of Clinton, passed away on August 14, 2026, following a courageous battle with cancer. Tammy was born June 1, 1966, to Leon W. and Virginia C. (Hoagland) Clark. She attended school in Clinton and later earned her Associate of Arts degree from Clinton Community College. In 1985, Tammy married her sweetheart, Daniel S. Brockett Sr. Their marriage was one of love and devotion, and Tammy remained faithfully devoted to Dan until his passing in 2021.
Above all else, Tammy treasured her family. She doted on her children and grandchildren and found great joy in caring for them, encouraging them, and making things for those she loved. She had a kind and selfless heart and was always willing to give of herself for others. That generosity was perhaps never more evident than when Tammy donated stem cells to help save her brother’s life.
Tammy’s Christian faith was central to the way she lived. She spent countless hours reading her Bible, filling its pages with notes and reflections. Her faith was more than something she spoke about; it could be seen in the way she treated others. Tammy sought to live by the example taught in Scripture—with kindness, humility, generosity, and love. She was, in so many ways, the kind of selfless person the Bible calls us to be, quietly leading by example.
She also appreciated the simple beauty of God’s creation and loved spending time enjoying nature. Tammy found happiness in creating things for her family, and the things she made became expressions of the love she had for them.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Daniel S. Brockett Sr., and her parents, Leon W. and Virginia C. Clark. Tammy is survived by her children, Anthony (Hillary) Clark of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Daniel (Aabedah) Brockett Jr. of Houston, Texas, Sarah Brockett of Clinton, Iowa, and Amanda Cresap of Cherokee, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Aiden, Owen, Adelynn, Emmett, Eden, Olivia, Isabel, and Abigail; her sister, Cindy Annoreno (Simon); and her brothers, Mark M. Clark (Trudy) of Washington State, Ryan C. Clark (Robin) of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, Matthew D. Clark (Shari) of Missouri, and Tim L. Clark of Clinton, Iowa.
Tammy leaves behind a legacy not measured simply by the years of her life, but by the love she gave, the faith she lived, and the lives she touched. Her family will remember her as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and woman of faith whose kindness and selflessness were evident in both extraordinary acts and everyday moments.
