Harvey E. Evers age 86 of Clinton, IA passed away Friday Aug. 28, 2026 at Bickford of Clinton. Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life Gathering will be held Saturday Sept. 12th from 10:00 AM – Noon at the Pape Funeral Home. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Harvey was born on July 23, 1940 in Clinton, IA the son of Ejner and Lucy (Simons) Evers. He graduated from Clinton High School in 1958. Harvey married Bonnie Tollenaar on Aug. 26, 1961 in Clinton, IA. He was a dryer operator at Clinton Corn Processing for over 30 years and worked maintenance at the Clinton County Court House for 10 years.
Harvey was a Master gardener, enjoyed hunting and fishing, and loved his dogs. Harvey enjoyed 51 years of sobriety as a grateful alcoholic and was a sponsor of many from Alcoholics Anonymous.
Harvey is survived by his wife, Bonnie Evers of Clinton, IA; several nieces and nephews, including David (Diane) Tollenaar of Clinton, IA, Kristy Groharing of Byron, IL, and Steve (Penny) Miller of Streamwood, IL; his brother & sister-in-law’s, Richard (Karen) Miller of Thomson, IL and Tim (Susan) Sung of Orinda, CA. He was preceded in death by his brother, Harold Evers.
