Visitation will be from 3:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the church and from 9:00 AM until the service time Wednesday.
Memorial Service:
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover. Burial will be in Andover Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Rose Anne Smith loving wife, mother, and grandmother left us in peace on Saturday, March 16th, 2019 in her rural home in Hauntown. She died unexpectedly from natural causes. Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, March 20, 2019 at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover. Rose Anne was loved by her husband Jack of 53 years. From this union two daughters, Julie (Scott) Holub of Clarksville, Iowa, and Amy Madsen-Smith of Clinton, Iowa. Rose Anne was blessed to have four grandchildren Makayla, Dawson, Caleb, and Lucas.

Rose Anne was born in Clinton, Iowa on January 6, 1945, the daughter of Eugene and Rosella (Simpson) Madsen. She graduated from Northeast High School, followed by nurses training at St. Luke’s in Davenport. She was a dedicated Registered Nurse working at Medical Associates for 46 years. This led to volunteering with Hospice in her retirement. Rose Anne and Jack loved traveling, especially to their grandchildren’s activities no matter where they were scheduled. Rose Anne enjoyed her flower gardens and mowing her yard. Her hands helped create and sew many quilts for loved ones and those in need.

Rose Anne and Jack both love their “church family” at Faith Lutheran Church, Andover, Iowa. Rose Anne had a passion for the Lord and lived the motto of “God’s Work Our Hands”. She was a member of five mission trips, and was active with numerous church activities.

Rose Anne was preceded in death by her parents Gene and Rosella Madsen. Rose Anne is survived by her husband, daughters, grandchildren, a brother Richard (Ember) Madsen in Bettendorf, IA, brother-in-law’s Dan Smith, Jim Miller, Ray Kraciun, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
