Adam A. Robbins Jr. age 77 of Clinton passed away Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at the university of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 2:00 to 3:00 PM on Saturday, April 27th at the Pape Funeral Home. A Memorial service will begin at 3:00 PM. Burial will follow in St. Ireaneus Calvary Cemetery.
Adam was born in Mason City, Iowa on October 29, 1946, the son of Adam A. and Lamona (McDonald) Robbins, Sr. He was employed by the City of Des Moines as a Ramp Supervisor. He also managed a laundry mat in Mason City and later he worked for the City of Anamosa Sign Shop. In his later years he also worked for the Center on Aging and he worked at the Salvation Army Store and the Victory Center Store.
He was a member of the River Church. He lived in Arkansas and while there was a member of the American Legion and helped manage a motel with Madonna Anderson. Adam loved his family very much and had a passion for life. He enjoyed reading a good book and listening to Gospel music. His favorite hobby was drawing. He loved drawing so much that he would draw on paper towel rolls when sitting around doing nothing. He loved his family a lot, especially the gatherings for the holidays. He was always in charge of making the pickle wraps.
Adam is survived by sisters, Madonna Anderson of Clinton, Lelia Smith of Clinton, Sandy (Ed) Bousman of Camanche, and Debbie (Larry) Carlton of Davenport; brothers, Kevin Robbins of Clinton, Steve Robbins of Clinton, Mike Robins, Donald Robbins, and Joe Robbins all of Clinton, Hans (Delinda) Robbins of Gainsville, MO, Brett (Tonya) Craig of Clinton, James Brockett of Lamont, IA, and Kenneth (Karen) Burmester, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents; 1 sister, 3 brothers, Daniel, Greg, and Yancey, and a b nephew, Eric Robbins. Online condolences may be let at www.papefh.com.
