Collin Kuhl, 23 of Andover, passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 25, 2026 at his home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 12 noon until 2:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2026 at the Pape Funeral Home. Inurnment will be at 2 PM at Andover Cemetery and a luncheon will follow at The Stockyard in Andover. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Collin Christopher Kuhl was born in Clinton, IA on August 6, 2002, the son of Chris (Renee) Kuhl and Dayla Wilson. He graduated from Northeast where he played sports and then enlisted in the US Army where he was a mortarman and stationed at Fort Carson in CO. Collin worked as an electrician at ADM. He enjoyed cooking, going to the gym, hanging with his friends and family, and playing pranks.
Collin is survived by his father Chris (Renee Lawrence) Kuhl; mother Dayla (Matthew Clark) Wilson; siblings Wayne, Tucker, Alyza, Bria, Kaleb, Abrienne, and Azariah; grandparents Dave and Laura Kuhl, and Renda Sievers; great grandfather Art Foster; girlfriend Ash Wolfe; and many friends. He was preceded in death by his grandfather Dale Wilson, and great grandmother Lois Foster.
I did not know Collen well as an adult though I had heard all good things about him, but I knew him as a little boy, and I know how deeply loved he was and how terribly missed he will be by all who loved him, with his family being foremost. Much love to all his family and friends and deep condolences to all who cherished him in his short life with a special extended warmth to his mother, Dayla, his dad, and his siblings.
One thing I will always remember Kuhl for is his love for food. When we would go to the dfac or the buffet and we might be laughing before hand but once he gets a plate of food in front of him he is locked in. And he would enjoy every bite. I remember all the groans of pleasure he would make when he would eat something especially tasty. It was always a good time sharing a laugh with him. I just wish I reached out to him more after the Army and told him more about Christ and the hope that He offers to sick souls.
All who are suffering, hear his words, “Come to Me, all who are weary and heavy-laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”

I still remember when I heard him and the others chanting hamburger cheese burger hot dog in the field. deff was a good dude and well respected among his friends. he will be missed
Collin and I were in the same platoon at basic training in fort Benning Georgia. Always smiling and a genuinely happy guy, funny always had people laughing and smiling. We often had fire guard shifts together he was an amazing person with a good outlook on life. My deepest condolences for friends and family, he will be deeply missed. God bless.
Collin and I were in the same platoon in basic training and honestly he knew how to put a smile on your face. He was always working out and loved to eat and would always tell me good morning when it was time for PT and hang out by my bunk. Sometimes he wouldn’t say anything but it was good to always have his presence around. My condolences to the family Collin will truly be missed
Collin is going to be greatly missed he was so funny & he did love a great cookout when all got together for Thanksgiving it was a big family in a 900 square foot house are time of year with are blended family.

My twin daughters went to school with Colin, and I remember hearing stories about him from his grandma, Laura, whenever we’d see her at Kwik Star, as well as from his great-grandfather, Art, when I would talk to him at Hardee’s. They always spoke about Colin with such joy and pride, and it was clear how deeply he was loved.
Please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers during this incredibly difficult time.
Collin was a good man. We weren’t the closest, but I’ll always remember the laughs we shared in high school and your sense of humor. Thank you for those memories, Collin. Rest in peace. My heartfelt condolences to your family and loved ones.
Collin was a good man. I didn’t know him too well outside of our time in high school but he was always such a fun guy to be around. He was hard working, honest, and always had a good story to tell. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and close ones. He will be missed.

I was so very sad and sorry to hear about Collin’s passing. He was a true friend and I have so many fond memories from our years together in high school. One that always makes me smile is a video I still have of him jumping on the back of one of our cows for a Spanish project — it still gives me a good laugh to this day. My prayers are with all of you during this difficult time. Collin will be deeply missed.
