Lucille “Lucy” Wulf, age 90 of Charlotte, passed away Friday, January 29, 2021 at Eagle Point Nursing Home. Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Thursday, February 4, 2021 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Charlotte with the Rev. Anthony Dodgers officiating. Lucille Marie Wulf was born in McCausland, IA on September 10, 1930, the daughter of Arnold and Edna (Mumm) Wulf. She graduated Charlotte High School in 1948. Lucy worked as a cook at the Charlotte schools and Charlotte Café. She was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday school teacher for 30 years. Lucy was the first woman on the Charlotte City Council. She was a writer for the DeWitt Observer, Preston Times, and the Charlotte Web newspapers for 25+ years and volunteered at the Charlotte Community Care Center.

Lucy is survived by her niece Gayla Haferbier of Charlotte; a great niece Jodi Haferbier Bowens and her family, Kiana Bowens, Kaleb Bowens and twins, Maleah and Monet Bowens, and the newest member of Lucy’s family Julika Gutierrez; three nephews, Scott (Julie) Haferbier of Charlotte and their sons Mitchell and Matthew, Brett Haferbier of Clinton, and Arlyn (Rhonda) Haferbier and family of Phoenix, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers Glenn and James; and two sisters Ramona and Nancy.
