Lorraine M. Tietjens, age 97 of Clinton, passed away Friday, August 5, 2022 at the Alverno. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at Faith Lutheran Church in Andover, Iowa. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the time of the service Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in Andover Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Lorraine was born in Teeds Grove, Iowa on February 25, 1925, the daughter of Frank and Viola (Jess) Rittmer. She married Wilbert Tietjens on July 18, 1942 in Clinton. Wilbert passed away on July 28, 1994. Lorraine had been employed at the Sabula Speaker Factory, A.C. Nielsen Company, and later at the Teeds Grove Savings Bank. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church and the Miles American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, camping, dancing, and playing cards, especially euchre and 500. She was an avid Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeye fan.
Lorraine is survived by 4 daughters; Madeline (Richard) Milder of Sabula, Janet (John) Corder of Show Low, AZ, Sandy Hansen (Richard Steffen) of Clinton, and Elise (Keith) Graves of Preston; 8 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren, and 6 great-great grandchildren with a 7th on the way. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wilbert; a grandson, William; a brother, Earl Rittmer, and a sister, Lois Andersen Marshall. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
