Douglas L. Suehl age 75 of Clinton, passed away Saturday Jan. 2, 2021 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Cremation rites have been accorded and graveside services will be held at Oakland Cemetery at a later date. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Doug was born on June 2, 1945 in Clinton, the son of Christian and Mary (Dege) Suehl. He worked as an iron worker for A. K. Steel Corporation in Davenport, where he served as treasurer of the union. He was a member of St. John Lutheran Church, Clinton. He worked on the sky walks in downtown Davenport. He enjoyed gardening, traveling, and country music.
Doug is survived by four sisters, Lynn Rosenberger of Clinton, Fayetta Brueske of Bartlett, IL, Ruby Matthew of Clinton, and June Manderscheid of Princeton, IA; his brother, Wayne (Joyce) Suehl of Clinton; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, two sisters, and a niece.
