Visitation:
Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 PM on Monday, June 10th at the Pape Funeral Home and from noon until the Mass on Tuesday at the church. Burial will be at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.

Memorial Service:
A Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 11th at the Prince of Peace Parish in Clinton.

Carlie J. Seamer age 78 of Clinton, passed away Friday, June 7, 2019 at his home. A Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, June 11th at the Prince of Peace Parish in Clinton. Carlie was born on April 19, 1941 in Clinton, the son of Gearhart and Gertrude (McDevitt) Seamer. He graduated from Miles High School in 1960. Carlie married his high school sweetheart Judith Petersen on April 28, 1962 at St. Mary’s in Bryant, IA. He was a lifelong dairy farmer, also working at ALCOA, International Paper and Sears.

Carlie was active on the St. Peters Catholic church council in Sabula and served on the East Central School Board. He was a member of the Farm Bureau, the Clinton Moose Lodge and the Jackson County rural Sabula Fire Board. Carlie enjoyed playing cards with his Couples Card Club for 50+ years and especially enjoyed playing with all the little ones and babies.

Carlie is survived by his loving wife, Judith; five children, Annette (Ben) Sy of Long Beach, CA, Mark (Kristi) Seamer of Clinton, IA, Deb (Don) Warner of Sabula, IA, Nancy (Jeff) House of Miles, IA and Brad (Trudy) Seamer of Sioux Falls, SD; 10 grandchildren, Jonathan Sy, Brooke (Brian) LaFollette, Brady Seamer, Emily Warner, Amy (Adam) Roling, Jarrett (Rose) House, Jace (Karmon) House, Cooper, Ryker and Tucker Seamer; seven great grandchildren, Abrym, Atley, Aceyn, Lane, MaKinley, Baylor and Grayson; two sisters, Marianne (Dave) Wharff and Theresa O’Brien; brother Steve (Ann) Seamer; two sisters-in-law LaVonne Petersen and Susan Raser and a brother-in-law Dale (Dee) Petersen. He was preceded in death by his parents Gearhart and Gertrude Seamer; his Father and Mother in Law, Glenn and Harriet Petersen and two brothers-in-law, Allen Petersen and Ray Raser. Memorials may be made to the family, Parkinson’s Research or Mercy One Hospice of Clinton.
