Luis was born on July 6, 1955, in McAllen, Texas, the son of Louis and Christine (Saenz) Riojas. Luis graduated from Savanna High School in 1974. Luis was known for his dedication to body building and was an avid runner early in life. He stayed active throughout his entire life, and physical fitness was important to him. He also had a love for sports: locally, the Quad City Mallards and Arena Football, MMA fighting, and for all the Chicago sports teams including the Bulls, Bears, Cubs and Blackhawks! He knew about all the college and national football teams.
Luis was also a reader. His entire life, he loved reading, especially the newspaper and about history. Luis also enjoyed music and going to concerts. Luis greatly loved his many nieces and nephews, enjoyed buying them gifts, was always so funny and quickly earned the position of favorite uncle. He had a way of making each one feel like they were Uncle Louie’s favorite. Luis will be remembered for his impromptu visits, his unique sense of humor, and his love for cars – especially his 2006 Pontiac G6!
Luis was a special son, brother, and uncle who will be dearly missed. Luis is survived by his five brothers: Gabe (Tami) Riojas, Rick (Becky) Riojas, Mike Riojas, Steve (Sue) Riojas, David (Kelly) Riojas and two sisters, Linda (John) Kugler and Diana (Bryan) McGrath, and many relatives including cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Louis and Christine Riojas.
We all at Scrub Pub always enjoy visiting us to do his laundry. Always was such a friendly, talkative person. He will truly be missed by the employees and other customers.
