William J. “Bill” Wisor, age 78 of Clinton, passed away Monday, July 5, 2021 at Mercy One Hospital. In following Bill’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Immaculate Conception Church, Fulton, IL. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Bill was born in Clinton on December 2, 1942, the son of Edmund A. and Bridget Marie (Doyle) Wisor, Sr. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1962. Bill married Pamela Lawrence on July 4, 1964 at St. Boniface Church in Clinton. He served with the Army National Guard of Iowa for 7 years. Bill was employed at E I DuPont for 38 years and most recently was working at O’Rielly’s. He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church and the Clinton Hot Rod Club. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, reading and gardening. He had a love of woodworking, making the benches at the dog park and many furniture items for family and friends.
Bill is survived by his wife Pam; a son, James; a granddaughter, Lauren; a brother, Edmund (Virginia) Wisor of Canyon Lake, TX; a sister, Mary Ellen (Arnold) Krogmann of Clinton; special family of the heart, the Kiger family and Carolyn Lee; his Godson, Adam Murphy and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother, Michael. In lieu of flowers the family requests memorials given to the American Cancer Society or Animal Birth Control.
