Thomas was born on July 13, 1971 in Morrison, IL, the son of Daniel and Jacqueline (Greeley) Smith. He worked as a deckhand and later as a pilot on Mississippi River barges for most of his life. He is survived by his son, Lucas Smith of Fulton, IL; two daughters, Elisha (Max) Thomson of Kentucky and Josie Smith of Rock Falls, IL; four grandchildren Max, Scarllet, Jaxon, and Lemmi; his mother, Jacqueline Smith of Moline, IL; and a brother, Raymond (Karlene) Smith. His father preceded him in death.

im nelly his philippine fiancee i meet tom on fb since march 25 2023 hes a sweet and kind hearted man he smile and always laughping even hes very sick he makes jokes and he sure that im smilling before he said goodnight .i miss him so much becoz i love him very much…i’ll never forget tom hes in my heart forever.
