Shelly Ann Leab age 52 of Clinton passed away Friday April 18, 2025 at her home. Funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Friday April 25th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Friday 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Cody, Conner, Merle, Masyn, Avery, Jayvian, Trenton, and Corey. Following the graveside service a luncheon will be held at Legends. Memorials may be given to the family. Shelly was born on March 29, 1973 in Clinton, IA the daughter of Merle and Mary Lou (Frederick) Leab. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1991; it was after she received her Real Estate License. She married Kevin Olson on May 2, 1992 in Clinton, IA. She worked as a Paralegal with Mike Judge’s office. Shelly was owner of Sassy Seconds Boutique, she was office manager for Ruhl and Ruhl Real Estate, Gateway Real Estate, and REMAX Real Estate. Following, she was co-owner of Legends with Conner Lee and Poopy’s Local Pub in Savanna, IL. She also was co-owner of Thomas Properties.
Shelly organized a grief support group, which met at Legends once a month. She was a member of River Church of Clinton, Ride for Recovery at Life Connections, Iowa Real Estate Association, and enjoyed planning and organizing events for birthday parties and events for people to get together. She hosted a Podcast for Fentanyl Awareness. Shelly enjoyed shopping, where she helped out her family members and employees, gardening, flowers, going on beach vacations, hosting family holiday gatherings, and especially her special grandson, Holdyn.
Shelly is survived by her two children, Cody (Aubrey) Olson of Fulton, IL and Cailey (James) Olson of Des Moines, IA; her grandson, Holdyn; her parents, Merle and Mary Lou Leab of Clinton, IA; her sister, Darla (Frederick) Holcombe of Clinton, IA; her brother, Merle (Ally) Leab of Clinton, IA; her life partner, Kevin Olson of Clinton, IA; several nieces and nephews; and her best friends, Conner Lee, Kristy Shelly, Emily Smith, and Carol Dierks. She was preceded in death by her son, Keaton on Feb. 27, 2024, her grandparents, her aunt, Betsy, her niece, Kynzlee, and a cousin, Chad.

Shelly worked for me for over 4years and we have been friends ever since,the love she had for her Family and friends,was evident in all her actions. A true joy to work with Pat and Lisa Pollard
This woman leaves an amazing legacy she will live on in many of us in the Mental Health field, we will always raise her up and when we don’t know what to do, we will ask ourselves what would Shelley do? She is already extremely missed and though I only knew her a short time I will never let anyone forget her.

I didn’t know Shelly very long but bonded over the loss of a child…my son passed a couple weeks apart from her son and she instantly reached out to me to offer me comfort and support ????…in the short time I knew her she was quick to come say hello and give me a tight squeeze and let me know I was not alone in my grief…my heart breaks for her family and close friends ???? she truly was a shining light…r.i.p shelly…thank you for being there for me in my darkest hours

I’ve known Shelly since we were kids…our moms went to school together.Shelly was also our realtor when we moved from South Clinton. We are truly heartbroken over this and are still in shock.I am so glad I was able to recently tell her how proud I am of my childhood friend and how great she was doing. Shelly’s family you are in our thoughts and prayers as you go thru these hard times.
