Paul H. Schipper age 87

Paul H. Schipper age 87 of Savanna, IL, formerly of Albany, IL passed away Saturday Jan. 20, 2024 at Big Meadows Nursing Home. Cremation rites have been accorded and a Celebration of Life will be held Saturday Jan. 27th at Triple Play Bowling and Banquet in Fulton, IL, (1601 9th Ave.) from Noon to 3:00 PM. The Pape Funeral Home, Clinton, IA is assisting the family. His burial will be held at Fulton Township Cemetery in the spring. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
Paul was born on Jan. 18, 1937 on family farm in Fulton Township, IL, the son of Earl and Margaret (Buis) Schipper. He was a veteran of the US Army, serving from 1960-1962 and in the Reserves from 1962-1966. Paul was a farmer and worked at International Paper, Clinton as a machine operator. He enjoyed deer and bird watching, mowing the grass, attending Fulton Steamer sporting events, and playing softball as a pitcher. Paul was an avid University of Illinois and Chicago Bears fan.
Paul is survived by his siblings, Alma (Steve) Whitmore of Albany, IL, Eileen Cook of Chadwick, IL, Edwin (Sandra) Schipper of Clinton, IA, and Marlyn (Linda) Schipper of Erie, IL; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Joan Coyle, and a sister in infancy, Betty Jane.
