Lois N. Wilk, age 93, of Cordova, IL passed away Monday, August 14, 2023 after a brief illness at the Alverno Health Care Facility, Clinton. Visitation will be from 9:00 to 11:00 AM Friday, August 18, 2023 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, Albany, IL with a funeral Mass following at 11:15 AM. Father Timothy Barr will officiate. Burial will be held at Cordova Township Cemetery with a luncheon immediately following at the Cordova Civic Center. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
She was born to Edward and Bernadine (Lindemann) Grage on January 31, 1930 in Rock Island. Lois graduated from Calamus High School. Her first marriage was to Arthur Kavanaugh and later married Ted Wilk on July 22, 1972 in Clinton, IA. They had recently celebrated 51 years together. She was a faithful member of St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Albany, IL. Lois had been a long term cancer survivor since the 1970’s showing many how faith and family prevail.
Lois enjoyed family events, feeding the birds, and tending to her flower gardens. As an avid photographer, she loved living on the Mississippi River and taking pictures of the sunsets. If you knew Lois, she never let grass grow under her feet. Lois could always be seen helping at Wilk Auctions for many years, where she met many friends.
Lois is survived by her husband Ted; her children Edward (Rose) Kavanaugh, Dennis (Linda) Kavanaugh, and Jon (Sharon) Kavanaugh; her grandchildren Dana, Bill, Jaque, Tyler, and Clint; 12 great grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren, and Ted’s daughters, Suzie and Melissa; and a brother in law Randy Richison. She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother Burton; daughter in law Sherry (Jon); grandson Landon, and a sister in law Martha.
