Joan E. Reeser, age 90 of Clinton, passed away Sunday, October 22, 2023 at The Alverno. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at Immaculate Conception Church in Fulton, IL. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Friday, October 27th at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Irenaeus Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Trenkamp, Kyle Spittler, Josh and Kyler Leonard, Brad Venema, and Brock Myers. Honorary pallbearers will be Alan and Robert Reeser, Dean Krogman, Eric Streed, Jordan Leonard, and Jon Myers.
Joan was born in Savanna, IL on June 26, 1933, the daughter of James and Anna Rose (Carroll) Keiller. She graduated from Savanna High School in 1951. She received her nurses training at Jane Lamb School of Nursing. She married Eugene Reeser on June 25, 1955 in Savanna. Eugene passed away on August 6, 2018. Joan was a registered nurse at Jane Lamb Hospital, St. Joseph Mercy Hospital, Bluff Medical, and later at The Alverno. She opened an adult day care center at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Clinton. She was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church and had been an avid supporter of the Nee-Hi’s Drum and Bugle Corps. She and Eugene had bowled at the former Odeon Club. Birthdays, family gatherings, and spending time with her grandkids were her pride and joy. She enjoyed her flower garden, square dancing, cooking, and baking.
Joan is survived by four children, Alan (Stephanie) Reeser of Bradenton, FL, Rosemary Reeser of Clinton, Elizabeth (Dean) Krogman of Clinton, and Robert (Apryl) Reeser of Parrish, FL; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene; a son, Brian; a son-in-law, Robert Trenkamp, and three brothers, Edward, Donald, and Carroll. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
