Gerard T. Murphy age 56

Gerard T. Murphy age 56 of Clinton, IA died Friday Jan. 17, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. Visitation will be held Wednesday Jan. 22nd from 5 – 7 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. A private family service will be held at 7:00 PM. Full obituary at www.papefh.com
Gerard was born on Sept. 21, 1968 in Omaha, NE the son of John and Rachel (Sander) Murphy. He was a veteran in the US Army. He worked as a Supervisor at Custom Pak. Gerard enjoyed working on cars and spending time with his two granddaughters.
Gerard is survived by his daughter, Sharyl (Jeff) Wanzek of Clinton, IA; two granddaughters, Hadlee and Aurora; his mother, Rachel Estes of Clinton, IA; 5 brothers and sisters, David Murphy, Michael Murphy, Maria Andresen, Cheryl Dykstra, and Christina Murphy all of Clinton, IA. He was preceded in death by his father, grandson, Crews Anderson, and nephew, Andrew Christiansen.
