Edna A. Schmalfeldt age 86 of Bettendorf, formerly of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, July 2, 2024 at The Vistas in Bettendorf. In following Edna’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. There are no services being planned. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Edna was born in Maquoketa, Iowa on January 9, 1938, the daughter of Syndey and Viola “Vi” (Sutton) Watters. She married Ralph Rockwell in Maquoketa. He preceded her in death. She later married Robert Schmalfeldt on June 6, 1969. Robert passed away on November 4, 2009. Edna was a homemaker. She enjoyed sewing, jigsaw puzzles and being with her family and friends.
Edna is survived by 3 children; Nancy (Tim) Scranton of Erie, IL, Bill (Cindy) Rockwell of Clinton, Karen (Jay) Diehl of Vacaville, CA, and Russell Rockwell of Clinton; 2 grandchildren, David and Jennifer; 3 great grandchildren, Hailey, Joe, and Kylie and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; 2 brothers, Jim and Allen “Bud”, and 2 sisters, Kay and Marge. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
