Beverly N. Wallace, age 80 of Clinton, passed away Tuesday, December 6, 2022 at the home. Family graveside services will be held at 1:30 PM on Sunday, December 18, 2022 at Oakland Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
Beverly was born in Clinton on February 25, 1942, the daughter of Marcus and Alieda (Milder) Todtz. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1962. Beverly married Thomas Bertoncella on February 24, 1978. Thomas passed away on January 9, 2015. Beverly was employed at E.I. DuPont for 35 years, in administrative roles.
Beverly lived a life of adventure; cross country skiing, white water rafting, travels to Holland and Mexico and a life on water, having various boats through the years as a second home in Florida and then Alabama with her husband. Beverly also enjoyed knitting in her earlier years and was known for making beautiful sweaters. After her husband passed, she enjoyed peaceful solitude at home watching cooking and baking shows and reading food and home magazines, always in search of a new recipe which was an inherited trait from her mother. Her two cats and her Kindle were always close by. Bev’s quick wit and humor will be missed. As expected, she remained strong-willed through the end of her journey.
Beverly is survived by her aunt, Fern Todtz of Camanche and cousins, Sunde (John) Unger of Camanche, Lewis (Julie) Todtz of Ankeny, IA, Nan (Dave) Horst of Sabula, IA, Ruby Bratthauer of Sabula, IA, Phyllis (Arnold) Bradley and Cheryl Bammann of Pontiac, IL and her Goddaughter, Alaina (Nathan) Shaffer of Cedar Rapids, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Thomas, and uncle Lawrence Todtz.
Now I understand why no answer on phone the last several times I called you. Guess I’ll have to talk to you when we meet again in Heaven. My condolences to Aunt Fern and your cousins. I hope you rest in peace in Jesus’ arms, and walking the glorious golden roads in Heaven, with those who have gone before you.
I will miss you sweet cousin.
My sincere condolences and prayers to Bev’s family. I lived across the street from Bev for 20 years. To know Bev was to love her. She was like a second Mom to me. We could talk about everything. I will miss her so very much… Rest In Peace dear Beverly. My life was richer for having you in it.
