A beautiful soul Sharon L. Dann-Vaske age 67 of Camanche, IA, passed away Saturday Dec. 3, 2022 at the University Of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Saturday Dec. 10th at the River Church, Clinton Ia. Visitation will be held Saturday 9:00 AM until the service hour at the church. Sharon was born on July 5, 1955 in Princeton, WV the daughter of Billy and Bernice (Lewis) Hensley. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1974 and attended College with a focus on accounting. Sharon married her “Knight in Shining Armor,” Leo Vaske on May 1, 2000 in Jamaica. She worked as an Inspector and hourly supervisor for ALCOA where she met her husband Leo. While attending school she also was a member of the Clinton Nee-HI’s all girl drum and bugle corps from 1967-1974 where she was a soprano bugle soloist. She enjoyed cooking and baking and was awesome at it. She attended the River Church and was active with Make-A-Wish Foundation for many years. She loved helping the children and their familys. She also loved Dancing and could get the whole dance floor following her lead. She also loved watching Hawkeye football and spending time with her family. Sharon loved all kids and was known by many as mo-mo. She was loved by everyone who knew her and she always greeted those she loved with a smile, hug and kiss. Sharon was full of kindness generosity and had a heart of gold
Sharon is survived by her husband, Leo Vaske of Camanche, IA; five children, Sam Dann of Clinton, IA, Gabe (Rachel) Dann of Clinton, IA, Melany (Derrol) Dann-Aadland of Des Moines, IA, April (Chakki) Chakaravarthy of Phoenix, AZ, Travis (Samantha) Vaske of Donahue, IA; 12 grandchildren, Anthony, Austin, David, Nolan, Drake, Dayne, Dexter, Damon, Mitch, Ruby, Blaise, Faith; 3 great grandchildren; Four brothers, Don (Joan) Hensley of Clinton, IA, Ron Hensley and Rob Hensley both of Clinton, IA, and Danny Hensley of Vidor, TX; three sisters, Shelia (Tom) Hodges of Pittsburgh, PA and Sandra (Steve) Grass of Jasper, TX, and Chris Hensley of Clinton, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Brother Rick and twin siblings Billy and Carolyn in infancy.
I’m so sorry to hear that Sharon passed away. She was such a wonderful, caring person. She will be missed by many. My prayers to her family.
So saddened to hear of Sharon’s passing. I went to school with Sharon & over the years we’d run into each other and reminisce of old times. Each time she always greeted me with a huge smile & a big hug. She was a ray of sunshine! May it bring comfort to her family knowing the lives she touched & the love she shared with so many of us.
