Donna L. Licht, age 88 of Clinton, formerly of Lowden, passed away Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Genesis Hospital, DeWitt. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Thursday, November 3rd at St. John Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Wednesday at the Pape Funeral Home and from 9:30 AM until the service time Thursday at the church. Burial will be in Trinity Cemetery, Lowden, Iowa. Pallbearers will be Andrew, Aaron, and Adam Pladna, and Louis, Ted, and Gary Licht.
Donna was born in Davenport on June 25, 1934, the daughter of Harold and Hulda (Gradert) Ruprecht. She graduated from Lowden High School and received her nurses training at Moline Lutheran School of Nursing. Donna married Delbert Licht on October 8, 1955 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lowden. Delbert passed away on August 5, 2013. Donna and Delbert farmed in both Lowden and Clinton. As a registered nurse Donna had also worked at the DeWitt and Maquoketa Hospitals, Clinton Retirement Village, and the Skyline Center. She was a member of St. John Lutheran Church where she was active in various Church Groups. She volunteered with Meals on Wheels, S.O.S. (Share our Sandwiches), and Friends of the Library. Donna enjoyed quilting, crocheting, gardening and attending her grandchildren’s activities.
Donna is survived by her daughter, Debbie (Brent) Pladna of Clinton; 3 grandsons, Andrew (Jenny) Pladna, Aaron (Megan) Pladna, and Adam (Kim) Pladna; 2 great granddaughters, Scarlett and Raelynn, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a brother, Harold Jr. Memorials may be made to St. John Lutheran Church or Lutheran Family Services.
