Delores L. Solberg age 85 of Clinton, IA, passed away Friday Sept. 16, 2022 at her home. Cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday Oct. 8th from 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the GM Solberg Wildlife Rescue, a local wildlife rescue started in her late husband’s honor by their grandchildren. Delores was born on Oct. 31, 1936 in Sabula, Iowa, the daughter of John and Rose (Horst) Wall. She married Gaylord Solberg on May 10, 1958 in Ames, IA; he passed away in 2017. Delores was a local artist and author, teaching children the arts at Clinton Community School System and the Clinton Art Gallery. Her love of nature and animals was an important part of her daily life and inspired her art.

Delores is survived by her two children, Scott (Leslie) Solberg of Clinton, IA and Jason (Rorie) Solberg of Corvallis, OR; seven grandchildren, Heather, Lyndsi, Dylan, Morgan, Mason, Jacob, and Chloe; two great grandchildren, Hunter and Forrest; and a brother, Richard Wall. She was preceded in death by her parents, her daughter, Susan, three sisters, and a brother.
