Kimberly “Kim” Bielema-Hill, passed away Friday, November 17, 2023 at the age of sixty. She was surrounded by family and friends at her daughter’s home in Camanche. A gathering of loved ones will be held to remember her on Friday, December 1, 2023 from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm, a service will begin at 6:00 pm at Pape Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow at Clyde’s Tavern in Camanche.
Kim was born in Clinton on April 27, 1963, the daughter of Gordon and Reva (Wiersema) Bielema. She was the oldest of 3 siblings and she liked to remind everyone of that fact when she thought it appropriate. She possessed the personality of a leader, often times directing gatherings of family and friends. She attended Clinton Schools and later received her Master’s Degree in Organizational Business Management from Ashford University. Kim married Brian Vawter in Clinton in 1989, a year later having a daughter, Brianna. She later married Michael Hill in Clinton in 2010, gaining an additional daughter by marriage.
Kim had been employed at JD Mott and Fastenal, where she met so many different people. When not working, she enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, meeting new people, gardening, reading, traveling, – especially to Puerto Rico. She was part of a foodie group that would travel to new restaurants at least once a month. She enjoyed crafting of all sorts – sewing, painting, shadow boxing with her Cricut, and even a brief interest into drafting and design to create different types of journals. A favorite pastime was golfing with her grandson, Brysen, at Valley Oaks and Top Golf. She also loved to play pool with her team, participating in many tournaments.
Kim is survived by her daughter, Brianna “Brie” Vawter of Camanche; a step-daughter, Rachael Hill of Fulton; her much loved grandson Brysen; her mother, Reva Mussmann of Edinburg, TX; two sisters, Toni Sciamatore and Tammy Bielema-Temple, both of Clinton; a brother, Paul (Ellen) Bielema of Christainsburg, VA; her loving and doting fiancé, David Hehlke; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded to the hereafter by her father, Gordon; her step-mother, Susan; and a sister, Terri. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family.
