Kenneth F. “Ken” Kremer age 91 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, December 4, 2024 at Fieldstone in DeWitt. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 13, 2024 at Prince of Peace. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until the service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in the Rock Island National Cemetery. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Ken was born in St. Louis on January 12, 1933, the son of Bernard J. and Anna M. (Krull) Kremer. He graduated from high school in St. Louis and received his degree in Chemical Engineering from Washington University in St. Louis. He served with the U.S. Amry Medical Corps during the Korean War. Ken married Nancy Miller on May 21, 1955 in St. Louis. Nancy passed away on October 15, 2023. Following his graduation Ken had been employed with Anheuser- Busch. Upon moving to Clinton he was employed at Clinton Corn Processing Company and later at 3-M in Cordova from where he retired.
Ken was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and the St. Boniface and St. Irenaeus Cemetery Board. He served on the Board of Directors and was Past President of Mobile Meals and he volunteered with RSVP. Ken was also a member of the Clinton Bowling Association where he served on the Board of Directors and was a member of the Clinton Bowling Association Hall of Fame. He enjoyed boating and fishing at the Lake of the Ozarks. He had been a Boy Scout leader and was an avid St. Louis Cardinal, Iowa Hawkeye and Chicago Bear fan.
Ken is survived by 3 sons; Mike (Sally) Kremer of Clinton, Dan (Pam) Kremer of Clinton, and Tim (Annette) Kremer of Sussex, WI; 13 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; a brother, Jim Kremer of St. Louis; a sister-in-law, Paula Kremer of St. Louis and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Nancy; a granddaughter, Julie, and 4 brothers, Ralph, Clarence, Norman, and Ronald. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the family.
