JoAnn L. Banker age 89 of Clinton, IA passed away Monday Sept. 4, 2023 at her home. A private family graveside service will be held Friday Sept. 8, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Clinton. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.

JoAnn was born on April 9, 1934 in Clinton, IA the daughter of George and Nellie (Johnson) Ottens. She attended Clinton Schools and married her high school sweetheart, John Banker in 1952 in Clinton. She and her husband owned and operated Banker and Ottens Painting and Drywall for over 40 years. She also worked at Longfellow Schools as a cook for many years. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish. She enjoyed doing puzzles and going to the casino.
JoAnn is survived by her eight children, Merry Hofreiter of Morris, IL, Kathy (Bob) Birkett of Clinton, Pam Banker of Clinton, Kim (John) Chambless of Katy, TX, Jackie (Kevin) Burken of Clinton, Steve (Michele) Banker of Clinton, Paul (Connie) Banker of Fulton, IL, and Michael (Lisa) Banker of Waukee, IA; daughter-in-law, Kim Banker; 20 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn (Wayne) Wilke of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son John, granddaughter Kelly, and three brothers.
