Kathy was born in Clinton on December 15, 1941, the daughter of Anthony “Tony” and Doris (McLaughlin) Kjergaard. She graduated from Clinton High School. Kathy married Al Hudson on September 5, 1964 in Clinton. Kathy had been employed at Target, The Alverno, and the Clinton School District, Transportation Department where she was known as Grandma Kathy to all. She was a member of the Clinton Landlord’s Association where she had served as President. She loved animals and flowers, going to Las Vegas and collected Isabelle Blooms. Her dog Casey meant everything to her and was by her side the entire time. She enjoyed going to and watching her kids and grandkids sporting and school activities. Kathy was an Iowa Hawkeye and Cubs fan and as a Lumber King fan, she helped run the Jannan apartments, where the players stayed while in Clinton. Not only did she love all her kids and grandkids, she loved all of their friends just like they were her own children. “When she said she loved you she truly meant it. But she wasn’t afraid to tell you if you were screwing up.”
Kathy is survived by her husband Al; 6 children, Scott Hudson, Dave Hudson, Robert “Bob” Hudson and Randy Hudson all of Clinton, Terry Hudson (Stacy Wulf) of Camanche, and Dawn (Kevin) Murphy of Camanche; 14 grandchildren, Lynn, Ben, Billy, Chelsea, Tatia, Kelsey, Jace, Zach, Keaton, Carter, Brenna, Braelyn, Josh, and Hope-Marie and 22 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Jack. Memorials may be made in Kathy’s name to the Clinton Humane Society. Online condolences may be left at www.papewfh.com.

Kathy was a very kind person, just like her parents. I used to babysit her boys and one little girl for 50cents an hour when I was teenager . I enjoyed every minute of it they were great kids. Rip my friend you will never be forgotten.
