Jim was born in Clinton, Iowa on May 20, 1948, the son of Roland and Mary (Wisor) Runge. He graduated from St. Mary’s High School and became a journeyman sheet metal technician for Union #91. He married Eileen Sheridan on September 19, 1980. Eileen passed away in 2017. Jim loved hunting and fishing. He enjoyed tying fly fishing flies and even made his own duck decoys when he started duck hunting. Jim’s passion for the outdoors and interest in wetland protection led him to start the Clinton chapter of Ducks Unlimited in 1974.
Jim is survived by his daughter Julie (Dennis) Fehrenbach of Charlotte, NC; grandson Max Fehrenbach; Brother Steve Runge of Camanche; sister Joanie Langrehr of Clinton; brother-in-law Norbert “Nubbs” Krogman of Clinton; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Eileen; and Sister Judy Krogman. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Ducks Unlimited or Clinton County Conservation.
So sorry to hear about cousin Jimmy’s passing. He was young! But he sure packed much adventure into life. Hearts out to his daughter, cousins Joanie & Stevie.
Much love – Jean & Jim Rogers
