Keith E. Jensen, age 90 of Clinton, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, July 7, 2023 at St. John Lutheran Church. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday, July 6th at the Pape Funeral Home and from 9:30 until the service time Friday at the church. Burial will be in Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be his grandchildren. Honorary pallbearers will be his great grandchildren.
Keith was born in Iowa City on November 26, 1932, the son of Paul and Pauline V. (Jensen) Christiansen. He graduated from Calamus High School in 1951. Keith married Phyllis Marx on June 14, 1953 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church in Clinton. Phyllis passed away on August 16, 2022. He was a member or St. John’s Lutheran Church, Loyal Order of the Moose, and Clinton County Farm Bureau. He was a farmer for 30 years and worked at DuPont for a year and a half. Keith also drove for 45 years for the Northeast School District and was a custodian for 15 years. Keith enjoyed dancing to Polka Music and listening to Molly B, Playing cards with his friends at the Village Co-op, along with reading his Bible and newspapers. He also enjoyed feeding the wild birds and spending time with his furry friend Spudy.
Keith is survived by 5 children; Stephen Jensen of Montrose, CO, Paula (Ron) Kinrade of Camanche, Tom (Marilyn) Jensen of San Antonio, TX, Mike (Sue) Jensen of Clinton, and Jane (Pete) Lamp of Charlotte; 11 grandchildren; Michael and Heather Jensen, Justin and Megan Jensen, Heather and Derek Hoenig, Heidi and Jay Dies, Jennifer and Brett Waltert, Stephanie and Kyle Donaghy, Shannon and Matt Holmes, Joe and Whitney Jensen, Christopher Jensen and Taylor Jensen; 22 great grandchildren and one great-great grandson. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Phyllis; and two grandchildren Jamie Lamp and Michael C. Jensen. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.
My sympathies go out to Keith’s family. Keith was more than an employee. He was a friend and I often went to Keith for advice on transportation issues. I will cherish the memories..
