Patricia A. “Patty Ann” Goettsch, age 92 of Clinton, passed away Friday, May 19, 2023 at The Alverno. A Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, May 24th at Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the Pape Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ryan Blasdell, Evan Scanlan, Randy Snowden, Wiley Blasdell, Mike Kramer, and Tim Dolan. Honorary pallbearer will be Earl Farrell.
Patricia was born in Clinton on February 6, 1931, the daughter of John “Jack” and Bertha (Brauer) Dolan. She graduated from St. Mary’s High School in 1949. Patricia married Wayne Goettsch on June 10, 1952 in Clinton. Wayne passed away on January 8, 2014. She was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose. Her life was her home, her children, her grandchildren, and her great grandchildren. She loved attending their school activities and sporting events. She and Wayne enjoyed bowling in Camanche. Patricia enjoyed getting together with some of her classmates. They called themselves the Foxy 49ers. They would regularly get together for breakfast or lunch and reminisce about their younger days. Patricia was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, especially basketball.
Patricia is survived by 3 children; Michael Goettsch of Roselle, IL, Jeffrey Goettsch of Gold Canyon, AZ, and Teresa (Alan) Blasdell of Fenton, IL; 3 grandchildren, Chastity McNatt, Katelynn (Evan) Scanlan, and Ryan (Victoria) Blasdell; 5 great grandchildren, Bodin, Maddilynn, Ellilynn, and Patricia’s “doll babies” Emersyn and Emilia; and a sister-in-law, Marilyn Stuedemann of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Wayne; a son, Timothy; and 2 brothers, John and Tom Dolan. Memorials may be made to Prince of Peace Church or St. Jude Hospital.
