Dustin T. Crigger age 34 of Clinton, IA, passed away Saturday Dec. 31, 2022 at MercyOne in Clinton. Cremation rites have been accorded. A private family service will be held at a later date. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com
Dustin was born on Dec. 19, 1988 in Clinton, IA, the son of Tami and Brent Tinderholt. He graduated from Clinton High School in 2007. He was a member of the Church of the Open Door, Clinton. Dustin was an avid Minnesota Vikings fan, loved music, and a good listener for his friends. He liked to watch TV and documentaries. He was knowledgeable about many subjects, quick to notice injustice, and wanted world change. He really paid attention to the effects of global warming and shared this with others. He always had a smile for us and we will miss his laugh and gentle soul.
Dustin is survived by his parents, Tami and Brent Tinderholt of Clinton, IA; five siblings, Bree Crigger, Andrew Crigger, Sharlie (Hurtis) Davis, Ashley Tinderholt, and Chelsey Tinderholt all of Clinton, IA; his paternal grandparents, Dale (Jane) Tinderholt of Houston, MN and Sandra Campbell of Clinton, IA; and several nieces & nephews. “Uncle Bubba” adored his many nieces and nephews and loved spending time with them. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents.
From Kathy Anderson, Dustin’s second grade teacher at Whittier: I am so very sorry to hear of Dustin’s passing. I loved having him as a student many years ago and enjoyed his quick wit and happy smiles! My son, Mark, who worked with Dustin to help him be able to use the hand control for his video games by designing one that was easier to use also expressed to me his sadness at this news. Our sympathy to each of you at this time.
I would like to express my condolences. I know my life was enriched by sharing time with all the kids during their Whittier years. When I returned to the Clinton Schools last fall, I ran into Chelsey at Clinton Middle School and recognized her warm smile even after so many years.
