Karen L. Wagner, age 53, of Clinton, passed away Monday, October 3, 2022 at her home following a long illness. In following Karen’s wishes cremation rites will be accorded. A private family celebration of life will be held. The Pape Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Karen was born in Clinton on January 8, 1969, the daughter of Maryann Knight. She graduated from Clinton High School. Karen married her life-long best friend Michael Wagner on September 7, 2012 in Clinton. Karen had been employed at Hardee’s in Clinton as Assistant Manager. She had also worked at DM Services, PFC, and Dollar General. She enjoyed taking rides, sitting on the dike, crafting, and scrapbooking. She loved going to the duck pond on Stockwell Lane, October Fest at the Amana’s, and going out to eat with her friends. Everywhere she went Karen made friends.
Karen is survived by her husband, Michael; her mom, Linda Melvin of Camanche; 3 sisters, Jennifer (Keith) Nelson of Camanche, Heather (Jared) Montgomery of LeClaire, and Leah Melvin (Teri Fett) of Clinton; 2 brothers Jeffrey (Marie Pahan) Melvin of Ames, IA and Scott (Kristin Clague) Melvin of Cedar Rapids and uncles, Butch (Jane) Knight of Black River Falls, WI and Chuck Knight of Clinton. She was preceded in death by her mother and an aunt, Patty Hamer. In lieu of flowers memorials in Karen’s name may be made to the Clinton Humane Society.
