Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday Jan.23rd at St. John Lutheran Church, Clinton. Burial will be at Center Grove Cemetery.

Wesley R. Stuedemann age 80 of Camanche, passed away Thursday Jan. 17, 2019 at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria, IL. Funeral services will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday Jan.23rd at St. John Lutheran Church, Clinton. Wes was born on Aug. 16, 1938 in Momence, IL, the son of Edward and Alma (Rutenbeck) Stuedemann. His family farmed in Illinois, Indiana and rural Clinton County until moving to the town of Clinton in 1947. Wes graduated from Clinton High School in 1956. He married Carol Niebuhr on July 9, 1961 at St. John Lutheran Church. Wes served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1963. He was employed at Alcoa for 10 years. Wes was an agent for the former Lutheran Mutual Insurance Company for over eight years. He owned and operated Wesman Anhydrous Ammonia for 12 years retiring in 1997.

Wes was an active member of St. John Lutheran Church, Clinton, where he served as Treasurer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Chairman of the Board of Stewardship, groundskeeper and custodian. He enjoyed spending time with his family, bowling with the church league and working in his yard.

Wes is survived by his wife of 57 years, Carol; three daughters, Lynn (Jim) Wing of Bettendorf, Lori (Jeff) Bettenga of San Diego, CA and Paula (Terry) Whitworth of Trabuco Canyon, CA; a son David Stuedemann of Camanche; six grandchildren, Douglas, Derek, and Sarah Wing, Capri (Nic) Duffee, Jacob Bettenga and Elise Whitworth; one great grandson Kasdyn; a sister Elaine Mohr of Oxford Junction, IA; a sister-in-law Alice Stuedemann of Camanche; four nephews and two nieces. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Albert Stuedemann and his brother-in-law George Mohr.
