William J. “Bill” McCutcheon age 91 of Davenport, formerly of Clinton, passed away Monday, January 27, 2025 at his home. According to his wishes, cremation rites have been recorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place on Saturday, February 8th from 11 AM to 1 PM at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton. Inurnment will take place at St. Irenaeus Cemetery at a later date. Bill was born on June 24, 1933 in Clinton, IA, the son of Klare and Etta (Finch) McCutcheon. He graduated from Lyons High School and attended DeVry Institute in Chicago. Bill and Patricia Tucking were united in marriage on May 15, 1959 in Iowa City, IA. Patricia died in 2020. Bill worked as an engineer for WOC-TV for 20 years and then supervised a maintenance department at the US Army Corps of Engineers for 25 years before he retired. He was a member of Our Lady of Victory in Davenport. After retirement, he and Pat enjoyed traveling in their RV. They wintered near Chandler, TX for many years before returning permanently to their original home in Davenport. Bill was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was formerly a member of an antique car club and had enjoyed restoring antique cars.

Bill is survived by his children, Darcee McCutcheon of Davenport, Paul (Sue) McCutcheon of Frankston, TX, and Robert McCutcheon (Susan Zimmerman) of Prosper, TX; seven grandchildren, Matthew, Kristen, Ryan, Dylan, Jonathan, Andrew, and Richard; and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Patricia; and a brother Melvin T. McCutcheon.
