Tonya L. Berry age 53 of Clinton, passed away Thursday March 18, 2021 in Clinton. Funeral service will be held 1:00 PM Friday April 2nd at the Pape Funeral Home, Clinton. Visitation will be held Friday April 2nd 11:00 AM until the service hour at the funeral home. Following the service, cremation rites will be accorded. Tonya was born August 7,1967 in Chicago, Illinois, the daughter of Willie Lee and Novie (Curry) Berry. Tonya was the youngest of eight siblings. She was delightful, beautiful, and full of joy. Tonya, nickname “Tim,” attended Morgan Park High School and served on the ROTC. After graduation in 1985, Tonya attended Robert Morris College in Chicago, Illinois, where she trained to become an executive secretary. Over the last 18 years Tonya resided in Clinton, Iowa where she shared a household with her longtime companion, Javon Keith and their daughter Javonne. She was the backbone of her family, like her mother, she kept everything intact and running smoothly. She loved listening to her music, spending time with family and was a true fan of Chicago sports teams. Tonya was called home on March 18, 2021. Tonya will be truly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Tonya is survived by her three children: Joshua Sutton of Clinton, Elijah White of California and Javonne Keith of Clinton; two grandchildren Kyro and Joslynn and longtime companion Javon Keith of Clinton, IA. She also leaves to mourn four sisters, Linda Ross-Lewis, Barbara Ross-Lawrence (Richard) Belinda Berry, Beatrice Bailey (Eric) all in the Chicagoland area, two brothers Willie L. Berry, Jr., (Yvonne) of Chicago, IL; Larry D. Ross, of Davenport, IA; a host of nieces, nephews and several close friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, and a sister, Deborah Ann Berry.
