Tammy J. Schmidt age 54 of Clinton passed away Sunday, November 2, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 8th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 11:00 AM until the service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Cottonwood Cemetery.
Tammy was born in Chicago on October 7, 1971, the daughter of Joseph “Joe” and Penny (Shepard) Burridge. She married Kevin Schmidt on June 21, 2202 in Clinton. Tammy was employed as a CNA at Winning Wheels in Prophetstown and later at Eagle Point Nursing Home in Clinton. She took pride in the compassion she showed to the residents she cared for at both. She taught Sunday School at Riverside Presbyterian Church for several years. Tammy enjoyed shopping and spending time with her grandkids. A day didn’t go by that she didn’t talk to her mother.
Tammy is survived by her husband Kevin; her daughter, Samantha Lutton (Nathan Jamison) of Clinton; 2 grandchildren, Dillon and Kenslee Jamison; her mother, Penny Shepard of Clinton; 5 brothers, Joe Burridge of Clinton, Shane (Hope) Lathrop of Camanche, Shaun Burridge of Clinton, Kirk Lathrop of Fulton, and John Burridge of Texas; a sister, Lori Lathrop of Clinton and several nieces and nephews.
