Patricia “Patty” Laughlin, 73 of Clinton, passed away Friday, March 28, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics, surrounded by her family. Visitation will be held at the Pape Funeral Home on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 4-6 PM. Cremation rites will be accorded following the visitation. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Patty was born in Rock Island, IL on September 12, 1951, the daughter of Robert and Marcella (Purferst) Reif. She graduated from Mount St. Claire and pursued her Master’s Degree, where she became a reading specialist for the local school system. Patty married Jon Laughlin on August 26, 1972 in Clinton. Patty loved music- whether it was playing the piano or singing in the church choir. She also enjoyed puzzles, tutoring, and most of all, spending time with her grandchildren.

Patty is survived by her husband Jon; her children, Teresa Laughlin, Scott Laughlin, Jessica (Patrick) Ahrens, and Miranda (Adam) Huling, all of Clinton; her grandchildren, Gabrielle, Claire, Evan, Kendylle, Carter, Hayden, Emmersyn, Bryson, Vivian, Donovan, and Baylor; great grandson Henry; siblings Mary Reif, Don (Marj) Reif, Jim Reif, and Lou (Phil) Reif. She was preceded in death by her parents.
