Larry (Huffy) Hoffman, age 82 passed away on Sunday May 9th at his home in Preston, Iowa surrounded by his family. A funeral mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday May 17th at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Preston followed by a burial at St. Joseph Cemetery, Preston. A visitation will be held from 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. Sunday May 16th at St. Joseph Catholic Church and the hour prior to the mass on Monday. Online condolences may be left at www.papefh.com.

Huffy began life on a farm near Springbrook, Iowa. Although his formal education stopped at grade 8 he never stopped learning and teaching. Huffy loved life and shared his gifts of a smile, a joke or story, or the ability to fix or improve anything from a circuit board to a broken heart with everyone. Everything just seemed to get a whole lot easier when Huffy was around.

Lois Yaddof Hoffman was the love of his life and they shared that life for 62 years. Giving new life to three uniquely beautiful daughters. Huffy and Lois suffered the loss of two of their girls leaving a permanent hole in their hearts.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Aloysius and Magdelena, his brother Verdis Hoffman, sister Ives Kilburg, his daughters Linda Bormann and Lori Gerardy. Larry will be dearly missed by his wife Lois, daughter Lisa (Greg) Feller, Pekin, IL, son-in-law Brent (Elizabeth) Bormann, Iowa City, IA, grandchildren, Ben (Christy) Feller, Dunedin, FL, Bree Feller, Pekin, IL, Alissa (Adam) Gudenkauf, Canton, IA, Matthew (Becky) Gerardy, Preston, IA, Lance, Brooke, Garrett, Claire, Grace Bormann, Iowa City, IA and three great grandchildren, Channing Locascio, Dunedin, FL, Hoyt Gudenkauf, Canton, IA, and Willow Sweet, Pekin, IL, sister, Mary Lee Kilburg, and sister-in-law, Delores Hoffman.
