Jeanne M. Cree age 78 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport. In following Jeanne’s wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 10:00 AM until 12:00 noon on Saturday, February 20th at the Pape Funeral Home. A Memorial service will begin at 12:00 noon. Burial will be at a later date at Clinton Lawn Cemetery.
Jeanne was born in Clinton on April 30, 1942, the daughter of Leo and Helen (Tanck) Behr. She graduated from DeWitt High School in 1960 and the Clinton Academy of Beauty in 1961. Jeanne married Sylvan Andresen in November of 1961 in Charlotte. She later married Max Cree on July 5, 1974 in Charles City, Iowa. Max passed away on May 8, 2009. Jeanne was a beautician at the Glamor Hut. She and Max owned and operated Cree Roofing and also ran the U-Pump from 2000 – 2005. She was a member of the Clinton USBC, on the Board of Director’s, Secretary of the 55+ League and a member of the 600 Club. She had also served as secretary of the Eagle Club Auxiliary and as a volunteer with the AMVETS Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, dancing the jitter bug, sewing, and crafts.
Jeanne is survived by 3 children, Sylvia (Mark) Duhr, Rhonda (Brian) Kearns, and Clint (Keitha Kjergaard) Andresen all of Clinton; 2 step-sons, Bill (Dawn) English of Mason City, IA and Kirk (Tracy) English of New Richland, MN; 8 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren and her sister, Barbara (Frank) Lippens of DeWitt. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-mother, Mary Behr; her husband, Max; a step-son, Mark English; a grandson, Justin, and her half-sister, Helen Behr.
