Jason Ray Golden age 45 of Camanche, passed away Friday, April 23, 2021 at his home. According to his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held on Saturday, May 1st from 1-3 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 3 PM. Inurnment will follow at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Jason was born on December 27, 1975 in Sterling, Illinois, the son of Clifford and Jane (Kammerer) Golden. Following his mother’s death in 1988, his Uncle Terry and Aunt Jackie Kammerer raised him like their own son. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith. Jason graduated from Camanche High School in 1994. Jason got his AA degree from Clinton Community College and became a crew leader at IPSCO. He was an avid Chicago Cubs, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Denver Broncos fan. Jason enjoyed playing disc golf, fishing, bowling, and going golfing. He is a Godfather to Jessica, Jennifer, and Jaime Kammerer and also to his best friend Christopher’s son, Bryant Christopher Cunduff.

Jason is survived by his Uncle Terry and Aunt Jackie Kammerer; his sisterly cousins Jessica (Nick Wickersham) Kammerer of Davenport, IA, Jennifer Kammerer of Camanche, and Jaime (Issac Schmidt) Kammerer of Clinton; grandparents Georgia and Steve Mooney of Camanche; Uncles Ricky (Karen) Kammerer of Lake Stevens, WA, Steve Kammerer of Clinton, and Gary (Susan) Shafar of Clinton; Aunts Tracy Shafar of Clinton and Sally (Greg Worsley) Shafar of Clinton; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his mother Jane; grandparents Virtus and Darleen Kammerer; Grandfather John Wayne Shafar; and two uncles, Kevin Kammerer and Joseph Shafar. Memorials can be made to the family where upon they will be given to Chicago Cubs Charities.
