Helen M. Foley, age 96 of Savanna, formerly of Clinton, passed away Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Big Meadows Nursing Home, Savanna. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, August 11th at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until the service time Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery.
Helen was born in Clinton on August 26, 1924, the daughter of Frank and Mary (Nichols) Liebert. She married Arthur “Art” Foley on March 10, 1950 in Clinton. Art passed away on April 24, 1999. Helen had been employed at Penny Printing and later had managed the former Odeon Club, of which she was a member. She enjoyed playing bingo and going to the casino, especially with her son and daughter-in-law so they could drive and she could enjoy a Manhattan. She shared her love of traveling with family, going on many amazing trips. She was a beautiful dancer and enjoyed her dancing days. Helen was an avid Cubs fan who shared her enthusiasm with her Cub loving family.
Helen is survived by 4 children; Dr. Christy Foley-Petty of Savanna, Jim (Margy) Foley of Clinton; Lynn Luckritz of Clinton, and Jane Sandholdt of Martinez, CA; 6 grandchildren, Tim, Doug, Lisa, Theresa, Paul and Lena; 8 great grandchildren, Iven, Irey, Brooke, Mack, Lexi, Landon, Daniella, and Frankie; a sister, Lucille Lord of Savanna; a brother, Lyle “Sonny” Liebert of Clinton and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Maxine.
