Mark W. Jensen age 65 of Clinton passed away Saturday, September 26, 2026 at St. Francis Hospital, Peoria, IL. In following Marks’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will take place from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Friday, October 2, 2026 at the Pape Funeral Home.
Mark was born in Clinton on June 27, 1961, the son of Maurice and Lucille (Manion) Jensen. He graduated from Mt. St. Clare Academy in 1979. He received an AA Degree from Mt. St. Clare College and attended Iowa State. Mark married Denise Rowold on October 27, 1984 at St. Irenaeus Church in Clinton. He was employed at the Quad Cities Nuclear Plant as a Senior Reactor Operator. He was a licensed instructor and outage planner. He retired in 2017. Mark enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his e-bike, and playing VR. He and Denise loved traveling the country in their 5th wheeler.
Mark is survived by his wife of 41 years, Denise; 3 sons, Andy (Amanda) Jensen of Clinton, Tim (Lauren) Jensen of DeWitt, and Nick (Brenda) Jensen of Ames; 6 grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Lucy, Miranda, Oliver, Nona, Zachariah, and Lydia; 2 brothers, Jay (Patricia) Jensen of La Crescent, WI and Bob (Jennifer) Jensen of LeClaire; 4 sisters, Mary Ortega of Clinton, Ann (Rick) Trine of State Center, IA, Cathy (Eldon) Arensdorf of Eldridge, and Barb (Bob) Scott of Albia, IA, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Craig; and his Mother and Father In Law, Richard and Nona Rowold. Memorials may be made to Planned Parenthood.
