Jared P. Determan age 40 of Camanche, IA passed away Saturday Oct. 18, 2025 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Funeral service will be held Thursday Oct. 23rd at 10:30 AM at Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Wednesday, October 22nd from 4:00 – 7:00 PM at Pape. Burial will be at Rose Hill Cemetery in Camanche. Casket bearers will be Jonathan Bertrand, Derek, Brady, and Dylan Determan, Drew Dolph, and Corey Godat. Jared was born on Sept. 1, 1985 in Clinton, IA the son of Phillip and Deb (Birely) Determan. He graduated from Camanche High School in 2003 and Indian Hills Community College in May of 2005. Jared married Molly Johnson on Aug. 20, 2011 on the Mississippi River. They have two children Joel and Eloise.

Jared worked hard his whole life; he was a rail car mechanic at Economy Coating. He was a member of Prince of Peace Parish and a man of strong faith. Jared loved being there for his children’s activities. He was a very proud Dad. Jared loved the outdoors and could often be found on the river. He also loved working with animals and taking care of them.

Jared is survived by his wife, Molly Determan of Camanche, IA; two children, Joel and Eloise; his mother Deb (Tom Paarmann) Determan of Camanche, IA; sister, Tonya (Ryan) Springer of Camanche, IA; his mother and father-in-law, Brian and Noreen Johnson of Clinton, IA; two sisters-in-law, Ann (Jason) Weller of Camanche, IA and Emily (Dan) Determan of Clinton, IA; and nieces & nephews, Bianca, Kallan, Vivian, Kinley, Brantley, Lakin, and Tenley. Also, a special niece and nephew Clarity and Alexavier. He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents.
