Thomas L. “Tom” Thiessen age 74 of Clinton, passed away Wednesday, May 7, 2025 at Clarissa Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at the Pape Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. Thomas (Tom) Thiessen Sr. (1951-2025) was born to Clarence and Jeanette (Richmond) Thiessen, the youngest of six children, and raised on a farm in the Charlotte, IA area. Graduated from Northeast High School class of 1970. Married just short of 50 years to his beloved wife Molly S (Niles) Thiessen. Tom had 3 children, Thomas Jr. (Laurie) and Becky of Clinton, and Laura (Mike Rains) Thiessen from Many, LA. Grandchildren are Ethan Housenga, Riley Thiessen, Tyler (Emma) and Macy Mulholland.
Thomas was a friend of Bill W. and very proud of 33 years of sobriety. He worked at ADM Clinton for 44 years as an operator in the Refinery and Enzyme departments. He liked traveling and enjoyed many trips to Las Vegas. Tom enjoyed bowling and served a term as the President of the Clinton Bowling Association. Tom was a diehard Rolling Stones and Atlanta Braves fan.
Thomas is survived by his wife Molly, 3 children, 4 grandchildren, siblings Janice (George) Sampson of Minneapolis, MN., Sharon Searcy of Dewitt, IA., Leon (Karen) Thiessen of Clever, MO., Judie (Steve) Petersen of Goose Lake, IA. and many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his parents, 1 brother Ed (Carol) Thiessen, and 1 granddaughter Jordan Bousman.
