Robert “Bob” Ray Watters age 88 of Camanche, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 22, 2025, surrounded by loved ones at MercyOne Medical Center in Clinton. Please join us in a celebration of Bob’s life. In lieu of a religious service, if friends and family would like to share a story or memory of Bob, there will be an opportunity to do so. Visitation will be held from 2-5 PM on Saturday, March 1st, with services being concluded by military rites at the Pape Funeral Home. Following the service, cremation rites will be accorded. Bob was born on October 24, 1936, in Iowa City, the son of Orville and Margaret (Eskelson) Watters. Bob served in the US Army from 1960-1965. He served in Washington State where he earned a Good Conduct Medal. Bob married Patricia Ann Foster on February 1, 1964 in Morrison, IL. He was a jack of all trades but was best known as a skilled carpenter. Bob enjoyed photography, wood working, boating, fishing, bird watching, music, playing cards, drinking brandy, and spending time with family and friends. He also recently took up baking-specializing in peanut butter cookies along with pumpkin and apple pies.

Bob is survived by his six children, Lisa (Tom) Manikowski of Clinton, Steve (Dawn) Watters of Clinton, Robert (Nancy) Watters of Roscoe, IL, Susan (Mike) Jensen of Clinton, Mike Watters of Clinton, and Bill (Brenda) Watters of Clinton; 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; his twin sister Barb Blount of Arkansas; brother Al Watters of Fulton, IL; and sister Ann Hanson of Clinton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Ann Watters (2019) and his parents.
