Paul J. Foster age 77 of Clinton, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2024 at Genesis East Hospital in Davenport. In following Paul’s wishes cremation rites have been accorded. A gathering of family and friends will be held from 1:00 to 3:00 PM on Friday, October 11, 2024 at the Pape Funeral Home, with a memorial service beginning at 3 PM. Burial will be at St. Mary’s Cemetery. Please wear your Iowa Hawkeye colors.

Paul was born in Clinton on June 28, 1947, the son of Joseph A. and Elsie (Michaelsen) Foster. He graduated from Clinton High School and received his AA Degree in Electronics from Clinton Community College. Paul served with the U.S. air Force during the Vietnam War. Paul married Debra Manning on June 29, 1974 at St. Mary’s Church in Clinton. He was employed at the Rock Island Arsenal in Maintenance Operational Procedures, retiring in 2004 after 34 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Paul was a loving husband and tremendous father and grandfather. He loved baseball and had a good sense of humor. Paul was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan, having season tickets in football for 30 years.

Paul is survived by his wife Deb; a son, Sean (Lauren) Foster of Elburn, IL; 3 grandchildren, Hayden, Alison, and Lillian and a sister-in-law, Martha (Peter) Ho of Billingham, WA. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother-in-law, Dennis Manning, and a nephew, Patrick Manning.
