William C. “Bill” Hansen age 97 of Clinton, IA passed away Sunday April 21, 2024 at Eagle Point Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Clinton. Memorial service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday May 2nd at the Pape Funeral Home. Gathering of friends and family will be held Thursday 10:00 AM until service at the funeral home. Cremation rites have been accorded and burial will be held at Clinton Lawn Cemetery. Following the memorial service a lunch will be served at the Village Coop, 1160 14th Ave. NE in Clinton. Bill was born on Dec. 2, 1926 in Clinton, IA the son of Henry and Lucy (Nielsen) Hansen. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He married Donna Hollindberger in 1947 in Clinton; she died in 2007. He later married Ann Watters on April 28, 2011 in Clinton.
He worked at EI DuPont for over 35 years, retiring as a supervisor. After retirement, he went to Romania for six weeks to help start a Rayon Plant. Bill enjoyed polka music, dancing, traveling, racing cars and a collector of toy cars. He attended the Lutheran faith.

Bill is survived by his wife, Ann Hansen of Clinton, IA; a son, Jon Hansen of Clinton, IA; a step-daughter, Cheryl Szabo of Manlius, IL; two granddaughters, Aurelia and Ariaha both of Davenport, IA; a step-grandson, Stephen Szabo of Marshalltown, IA; and a step great-granddaughter, Hailey Szabo of Manlius, IL.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife, Donna, two brothers, and a sister.
