Twyla M. Lawrence age 75 of Clinton, IA passed away Monday Jan. 10, 2022 at the University of Iowa Hospital, Iowa City. A mass will be celebrated 10:30 AM Friday Jan. 14th at Prince of Peace Parish. Visitation will be held Thursday Jan. 13th from 4 – 7 PM at the Pape Funeral Home. A private family graveside service will be held at Smith Cemetery near Almont. Twyla was born on Jan. 9, 1947 in Clinton, the daughter of LeRoy and Lucile (Clark) Ullrich. She graduated from Clinton High School in 1965. She married Darrell Kohrt in 1965 in Clinton. She later married Dale Lawrence on Sept. 29, 1990 in Clinton, he died in 2000. She worked as a supervisor at JCPenney, Clinton in the catalog department for over 25 years. She also worked at Walgreens in Clinton for over 15 years.
Twyla was a member of Prince of Peace Parish, R.S.V.P., Clinton Mobile Meals, and for 10 years as a 4-H Leader for Junior Homemakers. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, yardwork, reading, making wicker baskets, snuggling with her cats, Zoey and Lucy, and an avid Jewel Tea Dish collector.
Twyla is survived by her daughter, Sheila Kohrt of Clinton, IA; her special friend, Allen Hansen of Clinton, IA; her brother, Jeff Ullrich of Clinton, IA; her sister-cousin, Bethany McDaniel of Clinton, IA; two nephews, Nate and Terry; her niece, Lynsey; and two great nieces and her great nephew. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Dale, her daughter, Ronda, her sister, Priscilla, and a great niece, Carla Jo.
